Why Barley Saved?

When I was first coming out of addiction, my sister was still pretty deep in hers and dating a guy who was causing problems. My stepdad made a comment about getting some of my "barely saved" friends together to go "talk" to him. For some reason, the term "barely saved" just stuck with me.

At first I thought of "barely saved" as describing someone who believed in God, but was still a little rough around the edges. But, over time I grew to realize that being "barely saved" meant so much more than that. I was overwhelmed with gratitude when I realized that I was barely saved.

Barely saved from a past life that nearly separated me forever from my Creator.

Today, I can clearly see that we are all barely saved.

For His Word tells us that we all fall short of the glory of God. it is only the sacrifice at the cross that allows us to enter into His kingdom. No one is too far gone or righteous enough to earn His forgiveness, but the gift of eternal life is offered freely to everyone through Christ.

And it is my mission to share the testimonies of many who have, like me, experienced the miracle of being barely saved.

Revelation 12:11 (AMP). 11 And they overcame and conquered him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony, for they did not love their life and renounce their faith even when faced with death.
